Downtown Las Vegas Street ArtWhen you are in Las Vegas, you should hop on a bus or take a cab downtown for some exceptional street art. It’s a cool getaway from the busy Strip. You should know that downtown Las Vegas and the famous Strip are not the same thing. Downtown Las Vegas is actually the “old” Las Vegas which centers around Fremont Street. Unlike the Strip, buildings here are low rise. Even if you will find many Casinos here, there is not the same kind of hustle as on the Strip. It is a more relaxed atmosphere and a kind of arty vibe. Between 5th and 9th street and running along Ogden Ave east of Las Vegas Blvd., you’ll find some exceptionally good street art. The area hosts the International Art Basel Festival and Life is Beautiful Festival each year. Both have hosted my famous street artists.
D*FaceToday, the Fremont East District features work from many local artists and international names like Banksy and D*Face.
Banksy is an England-based graffiti artist, political activist and film director. His real name and identity remain unknown, but his satirical street art have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world. D*Face, or Dean Stockton, is also from U.K. He held his first major solo exhibition, Death & Glory, in 2006. To many teenagers, he may be best known for his collaboration with Christina Aguilera, on her album cover of Bionic. His murals in downtown Las Vegas is truly spectacular, and among the most noticeable.
Zio ZieglerZio Ziegler is an American painter and sculptor from San Francisco. He was one of the artists who joined the “Life Is Beautiful” festival in 2013. Since then, “Life Is Beautiful” has become an annual music, culinary, art, and learning festival in Downtown Las Vegas.
Alexandro FartoVhils, or Alexandre Farto, is a Portuguese graffiti/street artist who currently lives and works in London and Lisbon. Two of his murals are still present in the Fremont East District.

…And Much MoreGet away from the Strip and allow some hours to explore the area, you won’t regret it. You will probably be blown away by some of the murals; they are indeed fantastic.
