In 1985, Bob Geldof and Midge Ure organized Live Aid, a dual-venue concert to raise funds for relief of the ongoing Ethiopian famine. The concert featured many the biggest names on the music scene of the time. A global audience of nearly 2 billion watched the concert on TV.
