# 1: You say you got a real solution
Well you know
We’d all love to see the plan

Revolution 1:

ou say you want a revolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it's evolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know you can count me out in
Don't you know it's gonna be alright
Don't you know it's gonna be alright
Don't you know it's gonna be alright

You say you got a real solution
Well you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well you know
We're doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell you is brother you have to wait
Don't you know it's gonna be alright
Don't you know it's gonna be alright
Don't you know it's gonna be alright

# 2: Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
Towering over your head…

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds:

Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
Towering over your head
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes
And she's gone

Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Aaaaahhhhh...

Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers
That grow so incredibly high

Newspaper taxis appear on the shore
Waiting to take you away
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds
And you're gone...

# 3: I thought I knew you, what did I know?
You don’t look different, but you have changed

I'm Looking Through You:

'm looking through you, where did you go?
I thought I knew you, what did I know?
You don't look different, but you have changed
I'm looking through you, you're not the same

Your lips are moving, I cannot hear
Your voice is soothing, but the words aren't clear
You don't sound different, I've learned the game
I'm looking through you, you're not the same

Why, tell me why, did you not treat me right?
Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight

# 4: Friday night arrives without a suitcase
Sunday morning creeping like a nun…

Lady Madonna:

Lady Madonna, children at your feet
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet
Who finds the money when you pay the rent
Did you think that money was Heaven sent?
Friday night arrives without a suitcase
Sunday morning creeping like a nun
Monday's child has learned to tie his bootlace
See how they run

Lady Madonna, baby at your breast
Wonders how you manage to feed the rest?

See how they run

Lady Madonna lying on the bed
Listen to the music playing in your head

Tuesday afternoon is never ending
Wednesday morning papers didn't come
Thursday night your stockings needed mending
See how they run

# 5: Your day breaks, your mind aches…

For No One:

Your day breaks, your mind aches
You find that all the words of kindness linger on
When she no longer needs you

She wakes up, she makes up
She takes her time and doesn't feel she has to hurry
She no longer needs you

And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind her tears
Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years

You want her, you need her
And yet you don't believe her when she said her love is dead
You think she needs you

And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind her tears
Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years

# 6: The love you take
Is equal to the love
You make

The End:

And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love
You make

# 7: And now the time has come
And so my love I must go

I'll Follow The Sun:

One day you'll look to see I've gone
For tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun
Some day you'll know I was the one
But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun

And now the time has come
And so my love I must go
And though I lose a friend
In the end you will know, oooh

One day you'll find that I have gone
But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.

# 8: I’ve got everything that you want
Like a heart that’s oh so true

From Me To You:

Da da da da da dum dum da
Da da da da da dum dum da

If there's anything that you want
If there's anything I can do
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love from me to you

I've got everything that you want
Like a heart that's oh so true
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love from me to you

I got arms that long to hold you
And keep you by my side
I got lips that long to kiss you
And keep you satisfied, oooh

If there's anything that you want
If there's anything I can do
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love from me to you

Baby says she's mine, you know
She tells me all the time, you know
She said so
I'm in love with her and I feel fine

I'm so glad that she's my little girl
She's so glad, she's telling all the world

That her baby buys her things, you know
He buys her diamond rings, you know
She said so
She's in love with me and I feel fine, mmm

Baby says she's mine, you know
She tells me all the time, you know
She said so
I'm in love with her and I feel fine

# 10: Who knows how long I’ve loved you
You know I love you still…

I Will:

Who knows how long I've loved you
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime
If you want me to, I will

For if I ever saw you
I didn't catch your name
But it never really mattered
I will always feel the same

Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together
Love you when we're apart

And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For the things you do endear you to me
Oh, you know I will
I will

# 11: I don’t wanna sound complaining
But you know there’s always rain in my heart

Please Please Me:

Last night I said these words to my girl
I know you never even try, girl
C'mon (C'mon), c'mon (C'mon), c'mon (C'mon), c'mon (C'mon)
Please please me, oh yeah, like I please you

You don't need me to show the way, love
Why do I always have to say "love"
C'mon (C'mon), c'mon (C'mon), c'mon (C'mon), c'mon (C'mon)
Please please me, oh yeah, like I please you

I don't wanna sound complaining
But you know there's always rain in my heart (In my heart)

With you, oh yeah, why do you make me blue.

Well, I saw her yesterday
It's you she's thinking of

In our yellow submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

Beatles Lyrics Trivia Quiz

Which Beatles song contains these lyrics? Can you name the song based on just a line or two from the lyrics?

This Beatles song trivia is a quiz for true Beatles fans with songs spanning from the early hits in 1962 to their last recordings in the late sixties.

Beatles’ early songs were common stories of young love and broken hearts. As they matured, the stories became more creative and more about everyday life, often inspired by events or things the saw around them, like newspaper articles (“A Day in the Life”), posters (“Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!”), and even a box of candy (“Savoy Truffle”).

Lyrics also became slightly darker. Lennon explored the human psyche and showed a growing interest in politics. References to their past frequently found their way into the songs.

But the late sixties flower power era was also present in many of the lyrics, perhaps most evident in “All You Need Is Love”.

By the end of the Beatles story, John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote songs entirely on their own. The joint collaboration that combined Johns self-observing song ideas with Paul’s easygoing storytelling faded away and some of the magic was gone.
